Between the 17th – 20th of May 2011, we attended the third project meeting held in Breszcze, Poland. We were hosted by the Polish school Gimnazjum nr 2 w Brzeszczach. The project team took part in several activities at school level. We also took part in Europe Day activities. The Polish students prepared a multimedia presentation about the countries participating in this event and also a Zorba dance, traditional food corners were also prepared where traditional meals from all the countries taking part in the project were presented. The international teams participated in the competition concerning the European Union. The event was attended by representatives of Polish Parliament and local authorities.
All students prepared PowerPoint presentations related to children's games and traditional folk dances. In the first evening we attended a traditional evening, during which students had the opportunity to know and discuss issues of common interest. Also, they presented the final results of the questionnaire related to issues facing the environment. Near Breszcze there is a natural reservation with various species of birds that delighted us.
Also, we visited the Auschwitz and Birkenau camps and we were impressed by the Holocaust drama and we saw this with our own eyes.
We visited the city of Krakow, the former capital of Poland. We visited the former home of Bishop Karol Wojtyla, who became Pope John Paul II. We also visited the Universiry of Kracow.
